Shadownet is Laser’s public test network. Participation is for testing, development, and research. ## 01Project and scope Laser is an open-source blockchain and research project based in the United States. It has no registered legal entity at the date of this notice. References to “Laser” or “Photonic Money” identify the project; they do not identify an incorporated company or a regulated financial institution. This disclaimer covers information published on laser.cash, including technical documentation, articles, demonstrations, downloads, and network statistics. Individual software distributions have their own licenses. ## 02Shadownet and test coins Shadownet coins are test units. They are not offered by this website as an investment, a deposit, or a claim to payment. Test balances, transactions, chain history, software, and network parameters may change, reset, become incompatible, or cease to be available. Mining, holding, or receiving test coins does not itself create an entitlement to a future mainnet allocation, conversion, redemption, revenue, or compensation. The project makes no commitment to launch a particular future network, preserve test balances, obtain an exchange listing, or create a market for any asset. ## 03Information and professional advice Website content is provided for technical information, education, and discussion. It is not personalized investment, financial, legal, tax, or accounting advice, or a recommendation to acquire, hold, sell, or use an asset. The website does not provide brokerage, exchange, custody, or investment-management services. References to money, cash, ownership, mining, or rewards describe protocol concepts and design objectives. They do not determine an asset’s legal classification, establish regulatory approval, or promise a return. Obtain advice from qualified professionals when a decision depends on your financial circumstances or legal obligations. ## 04Software, wallets, and network risks Software can contain defects and vulnerabilities. Network participation involves risks including lost keys, compromised devices, unauthorized transactions, chain reorganizations, consensus failures, service interruptions, incompatible upgrades, and loss of data. A submitted transaction may be irreversible, and a displayed confirmation or balance is not a guarantee against a later reorganization. You are responsible for checking software provenance, protecting your device and keys, keeping suitable backups, and reviewing transaction details. Website maintainers do not hold your private keys and cannot reset a lost wallet passphrase or guarantee recovery of a wallet or transaction. Never send private keys, seed phrases, or wallet passwords to a purported support contact. ## 05Mining and hardware Mining consumes electricity and computing resources and can create heat, equipment wear, connectivity costs, and other expenses. There is no guarantee of finding a valid block, receiving a reward, recovering expenses, or operating profitably. Participation requires your own assessment of hardware suitability, safety, permissions, and local requirements. ## 06Cryptography and photonic research Post-quantum accounts use cryptographic schemes believed to resist known attacks by classical and quantum computers. This does not establish that a wallet, implementation, device, network, or future cryptographic assumption is immune to compromise. Referring to a published cryptographic standard does not claim certification or endorsement of Laser by the standards body. PhotonHash is designed to give optical processors a relevant computational workload. This design intent is not a statement that Laser is currently mined by light or that an end-to-end photonic advantage has been demonstrated. Software consensus rules, archived designs, research candidates, and prospective hardware are distinct. Public availability of code or a network does not establish permission to use it in every jurisdiction. This allocation of responsibility does not remove any duty that the law imposes on website maintainers or other participants.
